  • Purpose of this guideline

    • EveryFave is a local information platform where people discover businesses, services, offers, events, and updates in their community. Publisher accounts help make that experience useful by sharing clear, reliable, and relevant information.

    • This guideline is here to help publishers understand what good participation looks like on EveryFave. It explains the standards we expect so the platform remains trustworthy, respectful, safe, and fair for consumers, publishers, and the community.

    • It does not replace the Terms of Use. Instead, it works alongside the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and other EveryFave policies by explaining the practical publishing standards that apply on the platform.

    • The examples in this guideline are illustrative, not exhaustive. Similar conduct may also violate this guideline even if it is not listed here word for word.

    • Who and what this guideline applies to

      • This guideline applies to businesses and other approved publisher accounts that create, manage, or publish content on EveryFave.

      • It covers account registration details, page information, categories and subcategories, product and service listings, photos, videos, offers, events, news and updates, replies, comments, usernames, links, and other content or account activity associated with a publisher account.

      • If EveryFave introduces additional publisher tools in the future, this guideline will apply to those tools unless we say otherwise.

      • If there is any conflict between this guideline and the EveryFave Terms of Use or Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy govern.

      • Publisher principles

        • Be authentic. Represent a real business or authorized organization, and present yourself honestly.

        • Be accurate. Share information that is materially correct, current, and not misleading.

        • Be relevant. Publish content that helps consumers understand your actual business, products, services, events, or updates.

        • Be respectful. Interact with consumers and other users in a civil and professional manner.

        • Protect trust. Do not manipulate reviews, comments, likes, saves, follows, or visibility.

        • Protect safety and privacy. Do not publish harmful, discriminatory, invasive, fraudulent, or unlawful content.

        • Follow the law and platform rules. Your use of EveryFave must comply with applicable law, the Terms of Use, and related platform policies.

      • What publishers may use EveryFave for

        • Publishers may use EveryFave to maintain an accurate page for their business or organization, describe products or services, share clearly presented offers and events, post news and updates, and interact with consumers in connection with legitimate business activity.

        • EveryFave is built for useful local publishing. It is not a place for spam, misleading lead generation, fake review activity, unrelated content, abusive conduct, or general political, religious, or ideological campaigning or debate.

        • Account authenticity and control

          • Only authorized people may publish

            • A publisher account should be created and managed only by a person or team that is authorized to represent the business or organization.

            • Please do not impersonate another business, use a misleading identity, or create a page for a business you do not control or represent.

            • Allowed

              • A restaurant owner or authorized manager creates and manages the page for that restaurant.

              • An employee or agency publishes on behalf of a business with the business’s authorization.

            • Not allowed

              • Creating a page for a competitor, former employer, or unrelated business without authorization.

              • Using a business name, logo, or identity in a way that confuses consumers about who is speaking.

          • Maintain accurate business identity and location information

            • Please keep core page information reasonably current, including business name, address, contact details, operating details, category selection, and other material business information.

            • If important information changes, update it promptly. This includes changes that could affect whether consumers can accurately find, contact, visit, or evaluate the business.

            • Where EveryFave allows separate pages for separate locations, each page should correspond to the actual location it represents. Please do not create duplicate or overlapping pages to dominate visibility or confuse consumers.

          • Protect account access and publisher control

            • Publishers are responsible for who can access their account. Login credentials should be protected and should not be shared casually or used by unauthorized people.

            • If you believe an account has been compromised or used without authorization, please change credentials and notify EveryFave promptly through the appropriate support channel.

        • Stay focused on local business and service information

          • Be accurate and current

            • Publisher content should be materially accurate when it is posted. Please do not publish information you know is false, misleadingly outdated, or likely to create the wrong impression about what is being offered.

            • Important details may include price, dates, times, location, availability, eligibility, limits, conditions, and the basic nature of the product, service, event, or offer.

            • Allowed

              • "Weekend special: 20% off selected bakery items, Friday to Sunday, while supplies last."

              • "Store hours updated for the holiday weekend: Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Sunday closed."

            • Not allowed

              • Advertising an expired offer as if it were still active.

              • Posting "in stock now" when you know the product is unavailable or severely limited and fail to disclose that fact.

          • Be clear about important conditions

            • Please do not hide important conditions in a way that materially misleads consumers. If an offer has limits, exclusions, minimum purchase requirements, reservation requirements, age restrictions, limited quantities, or a geographic or time restriction, the key terms should be clear enough for a reasonable user to understand.

            • EveryFave does not require every operational detail in every post, but publishers should share enough information for consumers to understand the core terms of what is being published.

          • Keep content relevant to your actual business

            • Publisher content should relate to the actual business or organization represented by the account and should be relevant to local consumers.

            • Please do not use EveryFave to post unrelated chain messages, broad political campaigning, mass solicitation, or material that is disconnected from your business, services, products, events, or legitimate organizational updates.

          • Use images, videos, and media honestly

            • Images and videos should fairly represent the business, product, service, event, or offer being promoted. Please do not use media in a deceptive way to create a materially false impression.

            • Do not use manipulated, synthetic, or heavily edited media to mislead consumers about your premises, products, pricing, popularity, endorsements, or customer experience.

          • Respect privacy and intellectual property

            • Please do not post private or personal information about consumers, staff, or other individuals without appropriate permission or another lawful basis.

            • Please do not upload or use photos, videos, logos, text, designs, or other materials in a way that infringes someone else’s intellectual property rights.

          • Do not manipulate reviews or engagement

            • Publishers must not buy, sell, fabricate, coordinate, or otherwise manipulate reviews, ratings, comments, likes, saves, follows, or other engagement signals.

            • Please do not pressure consumers to change or remove legitimate feedback, and do not misuse reporting tools to silence criticism that does not violate platform rules.

            • Allowed

              • Encouraging genuine customers to leave honest feedback.

              • Responding politely to criticism and correcting factual issues when appropriate.

            • Not allowed

              • Paying for fake reviews or asking staff or friends to post undisclosed positive reviews to inflate reputation.

              • Coordinating false reports against a consumer because the consumer left an unfavorable but legitimate review.

          • Do not use misleading claims, false endorsement, fake urgency, or deceptive comparisons

            • Please do not make claims that materially overstate quality, official status, exclusivity, health effects, safety, performance, or endorsements. Please do not create false urgency or scarcity where it does not really exist.

            • Please do not state or imply that EveryFave, a government body, a brand owner, or another third party endorses, certifies, approves, sponsors, or is formally affiliated with your business, products, or services unless you have a real basis and any required authorization for that claim.

            • Publishers should not make unsupported health, medical, nutritional, safety, or performance claims, especially where those claims could materially influence consumer decisions.

            • Allowed

              • "Limited quantities available today" when quantities are in fact limited and the statement is accurate.

              • "Opening-week special" when the timing and terms are clearly stated and true.

            • Not allowed

              • "Today only" when you run the same promotion continuously and use the claim only to create false pressure.

              • Claiming that a product is "official", "doctor approved", or "guaranteed" without a real basis for that claim.

              • Stating or implying that EveryFave, a government body, or a brand owner officially endorses your business when that is not true.

          • Stay focused on local business and service information

            • EveryFave is designed for local business, service, and community-useful information. Publisher accounts must not use the platform primarily to post, promote, or debate political positions, political candidates, elections, religious doctrine, religious conversion messages, or other polarizing social or ideological topics that are not directly related to the publisher’s legitimate local operations.

            • Publisher content should stay focused on the publisher’s products, services, events, offers, business updates, customer information, and other locally relevant operational or community-related information.

            • A publisher may share factual, non-argumentative information when it is directly relevant to legitimate local operations, customers, or community participation, provided the content is local in nature and not framed as advocacy or debate.

            • Allowed

              • "We will be closed on Good Friday and reopen Saturday at 9:00 AM."

              • "Join us for a local food drive this weekend at our store."

              • "Due to a municipal road closure, parking access will be limited on Saturday."

              • "Holiday market this Sunday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM."

            • Not allowed

              • "Vote for Candidate X this weekend."

              • "Our business supports Party Y."

              • "We will discuss immigration policy on this page."

              • Using a business page mainly for political, religious, or ideological debate unrelated to local operations.

        • Restricted and prohibited content and conduct

          • Illegal, restricted, or unsafe goods and services

            • Publishers must not use EveryFave to advertise, facilitate, or promote goods or services that are illegal, unlawfully restricted, unsafe for the platform, or otherwise prohibited by EveryFave policy or applicable law.

            • This may include, among other things, unlawful drugs, drug paraphernalia, cigarettes, alcohol promotion, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods, hate items, pornography unsuitable for minors, hacking tools, and other categories that EveryFave may restrict or prohibit.

          • Fraud, scams, and deceptive practices

            • Please do not use EveryFave to scam, mislead, or exploit users. Publishers must not make materially false claims, impersonate third parties, hide essential facts, use deceptive links, or otherwise use business content to defraud or confuse users.

            • Claims about pricing, availability, product quality, exclusivity, health effects, or endorsements should be supportable and should not be presented in a misleading way.

          • Harmful, abusive, hateful, or discriminatory content

            • Publishers must not post content that threatens, harasses, humiliates, discriminates against, or promotes hatred or violence toward individuals or groups.

            • Professional disagreement and ordinary customer-service communication are allowed. Abuse, intimidation, and discriminatory treatment are not.

          • Privacy violations and doxxing

            • Please do not expose, threaten to expose, or encourage others to expose another person’s private information.

            • If you need to resolve a customer-service issue, please use appropriate private channels rather than posting personal data on the platform.

          • Spam, platform abuse, and technical misuse

            • Publishers must not flood the platform with repetitive content, mass unsolicited promotional material, malicious links, malware, or other technical abuse.

            • Please do not attempt to manipulate distribution, evade enforcement, create duplicate or deceptive accounts, or interfere with the normal operation of the platform.

          • Inauthentic behavior and impersonation

            • Publishers must not use fake personas, fake business identities, coordinated fake accounts, or deceptive profile information to mislead people about who they are, where they are located, or how popular or trusted they are.

            • Where EveryFave permits multiple accounts for distinct locations, languages, or brands, those accounts must still be genuine, transparent, and non-deceptive.

        • Launch-industry guidance

The following notes are meant to help publishers in EveryFave’s initial launch industries. They show how the general standards above may apply in practice and do not replace the Terms of Use or other platform policies.

          • Eat & Drink

            • Menus, featured items, event details, reservation requirements, opening hours, and promotional conditions should be presented as accurately as reasonably possible.

            • Please do not use food imagery, menu descriptions, or promotional language in a way that materially misrepresents portion size, ingredients, availability, or the nature of the offer.

            • Publishers must not use EveryFave for alcohol promotion or related restricted advertising that is prohibited by the Terms of Use or platform policy.

            • Example

              • Appropriate: "Weekend brunch special available Saturday and Sunday until 2:00 PM. Selected menu items only."

              • Not appropriate: Promoting a dish as generally available when it was a one-day special that is no longer offered, without making that clear.

          • Grocery

            • Pricing, stock status, package size, quantity limits, freshness-related claims, and promotional periods should be presented in a way that is clear and not misleading.

            • Publishers should avoid overstating scarcity, quality, nutritional benefits, or product origin when a claim cannot be supported.

            • Example

              • Appropriate: "Fresh local strawberries, limited quantity, weekend feature price."

              • Not appropriate: Advertising a deeply discounted item without disclosing that the price applies only to a different size, quantity, or condition than consumers would reasonably expect.

          • Retail

            • Retail publishers should describe products, brands, availability, price, material condition, and key features with reasonable accuracy.

            • Counterfeit products, misleading comparisons, false claims of exclusivity, or omission of important defects, restrictions, or conditions are not allowed.

            • Example

              • Appropriate: "Floor model available at reduced price. Final sale."

              • Not appropriate: Using stock imagery and premium-brand wording to imply you are selling a different branded product than the one actually offered.

        • Interacting with consumers

          • Reply professionally

            • Publishers should interact with consumers in a professional and respectful way, especially when responding to questions, complaints, reviews, or comments.

            • A publisher may disagree with a consumer, correct factual errors, or explain policy. However, the response should remain civil and should not become threatening, insulting, retaliatory, or invasive.

            • Allowed

              • "Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry your order was delayed. Please contact us at [customer service email] so we can review your case."

              • "For clarity, the promotion applied only to selected items, but we agree the sign should have been clearer."

            • Not allowed

              • Threatening to sue, blacklist, intimidate, or publicly shame a customer for ordinary criticism.

              • Posting a customer’s personal information in order to rebut a complaint.

          • Do not misuse incentives or pressure

            • Please do not pressure users into posting positive feedback or withdrawing negative feedback. Any outreach for feedback should be honest and should not create a false impression of independent consumer opinion.

            • If EveryFave later introduces more specific review, incentive, endorsement, or promotion rules, publishers must follow those rules as well.

        • Reporting, moderation, and cooperation

          • EveryFave may review publisher content proactively or in response to user reports, internal review, category review, trust-and-safety concerns, legal requests, or other platform signals.

          • If EveryFave asks for clarification, correction, supporting information, proof of authorization, proof of claims, or other cooperation in connection with a review, verification, trust and safety issue, or legal concern, publishers should respond in a timely and truthful manner. Failure to cooperate may result in content restriction, removal, or account action.

          • Please do not make false reports, submit duplicate bad-faith reports, or use reporting tools to target critics, competitors, or users for improper reasons.

          • Enforcement and appeals

            • If a publisher violates this guideline, EveryFave may take action that is proportionate to the severity, frequency, and risk of the violation.

            • Possible actions may include content removal, content labeling, visibility restriction, warning, feature limitation, suspension, loss of verification or publishing privileges, or account termination.

            • EveryFave may act more quickly or take stronger action in cases involving fraud, impersonation, manipulation, illegal activity, privacy risk, serious abuse, dangerous goods, or repeat violations.

            • Where EveryFave provides a review or appeal channel, publishers may request further review by contacting us through the applicable support or appeal process.

            • Relationship to the Terms of Use and updates

              • This guideline is a publisher-focused companion to the EveryFave Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. It explains the practical standards publishers should follow when using the platform.

              • Nothing in this document limits EveryFave’s rights under the Terms of Use or applicable law. EveryFave may update this guideline as the platform evolves.

              • Questions, reports, or requests relating to this guideline may be directed to our supporting team through the Contact Us page.
