  • Purpose of this guideline

    • EveryFave is a local information platform where people discover businesses, services, offers, events, and updates in their communities.

    • This guideline is here to help consumers understand what good participation looks like on EveryFave. It explains the standards we expect when consumers browse, review, comment, follow, save, report, or otherwise interact on the platform.

    • It does not replace the Terms of Use. Instead, it works alongside the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and other EveryFave policies.

    • The examples in this guideline are illustrative, not exhaustive. Similar conduct may also violate this guideline even if it is not listed word-for-word here.

    • Who and what this guideline applies to

      • This guideline applies to consumers and other non-publisher users who browse or interact on EveryFave.

      • It covers account information, usernames, reviews, ratings, recommendations, comments, replies, likes, saves, follows, reports, photos, videos, links, and other content or activity associated with a consumer account.

      • If EveryFave introduces additional consumer features or tools in the future, this guideline will apply to those features unless we say otherwise.

      • If there is any conflict between this guideline and the EveryFave Terms of Use or Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy govern.

      • Consumer principles

        • Be honest. Share real experiences, sincere opinions, and accurate information.

        • Be relevant. Keep your participation connected to actual local businesses, products, services, offers, events, or related experiences.

        • Be respectful. Treat publishers and other users with civility, even when you disagree or are disappointed.

        • Protect privacy and safety. Do not expose, threaten, or misuse other people's personal information.

        • Protect trust. Do not manipulate reviews, reports, ratings, or other engagement signals.

        • Follow the law and platform rules. Your use of EveryFave must comply with applicable law, the Terms of Use, and related platform policies.

      • What consumers may use EveryFave for

        • Consumers may use EveryFave to discover local businesses and organizations, browse products and services, learn about offers and events, follow publishers, save useful information, and share genuine feedback or recommendations.

        • EveryFave is built for useful local participation. It is not a place for harassment, personal feuds, fake reviews, scams, spam, or unrelated political, religious, or ideological debate.

        • Important details such as price, availability, hours, dates, and eligibility may change. Where it matters, please verify important information directly with the publisher.

        • Account authenticity and personal responsibility

          • Use an account that represents you honestly

            • Please use an account that represents you honestly and does not mislead others about who you are. Do not impersonate another person, business, or organization, and do not pretend to be an employee, customer, reviewer, or local resident if that would create a false impression.

            • Allowed

              • Using your own name or a reasonable profile identity that does not mislead others about who is speaking.

              • Sharing your own experience with a local business you actually visited or used.

            • Not allowed

              • Pretending to be another person, a business owner, or a staff member in order to influence discussion.

              • Using fake or deceptive identities to post reviews, comments, or reports.

            • Product and service reviews are shown with your first name and last initial, such as "Joe S." This helps keep reviews accountable while protecting your privacy. Do not use a name that impersonates another person, represents a business, includes promotional language, or misleads other users.

          • Protect your account and access

            • You are responsible for activity on your account. Please protect your login details, do not share access casually, and take reasonable steps to keep your account secure.

            • If you believe your account has been compromised or used without authorization, please change your credentials and notify EveryFave promptly through the appropriate support channel.

        • Content standards for consumers

          • Share honest, experience-based feedback

            • Reviews, ratings, recommendations, and comments should reflect your own real experience or a sincerely held opinion grounded in an actual interaction. Please do not post fabricated, copied, or coordinated feedback, and do not write as though you visited, purchased, or attended when you did not.

            • Allowed

              • "I visited on Saturday evening. The food was fresh, but the wait was longer than expected."

              • "The sale signs were helpful, and I found the staff polite and efficient."

            • Not allowed

              • Posting a review for a business you never visited or used.

              • Copying someone else's review or posting coordinated praise or criticism that does not reflect your own experience.

          • Keep reviews and comments relevant

            • Please keep your feedback focused on the business, product, service, offer, event, or experience being discussed. Criticism is allowed, but it should stay relevant to the topic and should not become a personal attack or a platform for unrelated arguments.

            • Allowed

              • "The event started late and the parking directions were unclear."

              • "This store usually has good produce, but the advertised item was sold out when I arrived."

            • Not allowed

              • Using a review to attack someone's appearance, family, religion, or unrelated personal views.

              • Using a comment thread mainly to argue about national politics or other topics unrelated to the local business or experience.

          • Be respectful

            • Consumers may disagree, express disappointment, and leave negative feedback. Please do so in a civil way. Threats, intimidation, name-calling, harassment, humiliation, and discriminatory remarks are not allowed.

            • Allowed

              • "I was disappointed by the service and would not return based on this experience."

              • "I disagree with this review because my experience was different."

            • Not allowed

              • Threatening to harm, harass, or "expose" a publisher, staff member, or another user.

              • Using slurs, hate speech, or degrading language about protected characteristics or personal traits.

          • Protect privacy and safety

            • Please do not post private or sensitive information about other people without permission. This includes home addresses, personal phone numbers, personal email addresses, financial information, identification documents, medical information, or other details that could put someone at risk.

            • If you need to resolve a customer-service issue, use appropriate private channels when possible rather than posting someone else's personal information on the platform.

            • Allowed

              • Sharing public business contact information that already appears on the business page or website.

              • Describing your experience without naming a private individual or exposing personal details.

            • Not allowed

              • Posting a staff member's personal phone number or home address.

              • Uploading screenshots, receipts, or messages that expose another person's private information without a legitimate reason and appropriate permission.

          • Do not manipulate reviews, reports, or engagement

            • Please do not buy, sell, trade, coordinate, or otherwise manipulate reviews, ratings, recommendations, likes, saves, follows, or reports. Do not use multiple accounts, group coordination, or bad-faith reporting to create a false impression or to silence others.

            • Allowed

              • Leaving honest feedback after a real visit or purchase.

              • Reporting content in good faith because you believe it violates platform rules.

            • Not allowed

              • Coordinating with others to flood a page with false positive or negative reviews.

              • Submitting repeated bad-faith reports because you dislike a publisher or disagree with a legitimate review.

          • Do not post misleading, unlawful, or unsafe content

            • Please do not use EveryFave to spread scams, deceptive links, malware, fraudulent claims, unlawful offers, or other unsafe or harmful content. Do not use the platform to facilitate illegal activity or to post content that could put others at risk.

          • Stay focused on local business and service information

            • EveryFave is designed for local business, service, and community-useful information. Consumer accounts must not use the platform mainly to promote or debate political positions, political candidates, elections, religious doctrine, religious conversion messages, or other polarizing social or ideological topics that are not directly related to a genuine local business, service, event, or customer experience.

            • Consumers may mention public information when it is directly relevant to a local experience, but the platform should not be used mainly as a forum for political campaigning, religious proselytizing, or ideological debate.

            • Allowed

              • "The road closure made it hard to access the store this morning."

              • "The business was closed for the holiday when I arrived."

            • Not allowed

              • "Everyone should vote for Candidate X, and this business page proves why."

              • Using a review or comment thread mainly for political, religious, or ideological debate unrelated to the local experience.

        • Reviews, ratings, and recommendations

          • Make reviews useful and fair

            • Helpful reviews usually describe what happened, when it happened, and why the experience was positive, negative, or mixed. Please be as fair and specific as you reasonably can.

            • Where relevant, it is helpful to mention details such as product quality, service, wait time, pricing clarity, availability, cleanliness, accessibility, or whether an advertised offer matched what you found.

          • Negative feedback is allowed, abuse is not

            • Consumers may leave negative reviews and critical comments if they are genuine and relevant. However, please do not use reviews to threaten, intimidate, blackmail, extort, or make unsupported accusations of criminal or unethical conduct.

            • Allowed

              • "The advertised special was not available when I arrived, and the explanation was unclear."

              • "I would not recommend this service based on my experience."

            • Not allowed

              • Threatening to post repeated negative reviews unless you receive money, free products, or special treatment.

              • Accusing a publisher or staff member of criminal conduct without a reasonable basis, especially in a way that appears intended to harm or inflame.

          • Do not review on behalf of others in a misleading way

            • Please do not submit reviews or recommendations on behalf of other people in a way that hides who actually had the experience. If you are describing a group visit or shared experience, make that clear.

        • Interacting with publishers and other users

          • Ask questions and respond constructively

            • Consumers are welcome to ask questions, request clarification, and respond to publishers or other users in a constructive way. Please keep the conversation helpful, relevant, and proportionate.

          • Disagreement is allowed, dogpiling is not

            • People will sometimes disagree about a business or an experience. That is normal. Please do not gang up on other users, repeatedly target someone across posts, or turn a disagreement into harassment.

          • Do not retaliate outside the platform

            • Please do not use EveryFave to organize harassment, retaliation, or campaigns against a publisher, staff member, reviewer, or another user on or off the platform.

        • Reporting content and accounts

          • If you see content or account activity that appears false, abusive, fraudulent, unsafe, privacy-invasive, or otherwise in violation of this guideline, please report it through the appropriate EveryFave channel.

          • Please report in good faith and provide truthful information. Reporting tools are there to help protect the community, not to settle personal disputes or silence opinions you simply disagree with.

          • Examples of content that may warrant reporting include impersonation, fake reviews, threats, harassment, discriminatory content, scams, privacy violations, dangerous goods, and clearly misleading business information.

          • Moderation and cooperation

            • EveryFave may review consumer content proactively or in response to reports, internal review, trust-and-safety concerns, legal requests, or other platform signals.

            • If EveryFave requests clarification, supporting information, or other cooperation in connection with a review, report, or safety issue, please respond in a timely and truthful manner.

            • Please do not make false reports, submit duplicate bad-faith reports, or otherwise misuse moderation tools.

            • Enforcement and appeals

              • If a consumer violates this guideline, EveryFave may take action that is proportionate to the severity, frequency, and risk of the violation.

              • Possible actions may include content removal, content labeling, visibility restriction, warning, feature limitation, suspension, or account termination.

              • EveryFave may move more quickly or take stronger action in cases involving fraud, impersonation, privacy risk, serious abuse, threats, dangerous goods, coordinated manipulation, or repeat violations.

              • Where EveryFave provides a review or appeal channel, consumers may request further review by contacting us through the applicable support or appeal process.

              • Relationship to the Terms of Use and updates

                • This guideline is a consumer-focused companion to the EveryFave Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. It is intended to explain the practical standards consumers should follow when using the platform.

                • Nothing in this document limits EveryFave's rights under the Terms of Use or applicable law. EveryFave may update this guideline as the platform evolves.

                • Questions, reports, or requests relating to this guideline may be directed to the EveryFave Support Team through our Contact Us page.
